Free State police have arrested four suspects following a farm attack in which a farmer was shot and killed and his son injured during a robbery on Swartpan farm near Henneman.
Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Motantsi Makhele says detectives worked round the clock after the 56-year old farmer and his 26-year-old son were attacked on their farm early on Friday morning.
The farmer was shot in the head while his son was stabbed during the incident, but he survived.
Makhele says they conducted a crime intelligence-led operation and arrested four suspects in Phomolong near Hennenman on Friday evening.
He says one of the suspects, aged 47, was found hanging in his cell in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The other three in their 30's will appear in the Hennenman Magistrate's Court soon on charges of murder, attempted murder and house robbery.
