A fourth suspect, wanted in connection with the kidnapping of young Amy-Leigh De Jager outside Laerskool Kollegepark in Vanderbijlpark at the beginning of the month, has been arrested.
National police spokesperson, Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo says members from the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit arrested a 24-year-old man at Muvhango, just outside Vanderbijlpark on Monday.
This follows the arrest of three suspects just days after the little Grade R pupil was kidnapped as she was being dropped off by her mother at school, and returned within 24 hours.
Naidoo says the suspect will appear in the local magistrate's court on Wednesday and the prosecution will request that he be remanded in custody until October 1, when he will reappear with the other three suspects for a formal bail application.
