The Hawks in the Northern Cape have arrested four suspects near Kuruman for allegedly dealing in pangolin and contravening the National Environmental Management-Biodiversity Act.
Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Nomthandazo Mnisi says the suspects, aged between 48 and 58, were arrested on Saturday during a multi-disciplinary operation.
She says a tip-off was received regarding suspects looking for a potential buyer to purchase a pangolin for an amount of R250 000.
She says members confiscated a live pangolin and a Mercedes Benz sedan that was used in the commission of the crime.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Kuruman Magistrate's court on Monday.
