Five killed in Mpumalanga accident

Five people were killed after a BMW hit a tree on the N4 at Elandshoek near Mbombela in Mpumalanga on Friday evening.

ER24's Werner Vermaak says paramedics arrived at the scene, where they found five people trapped inside the vehicle.

He says four people were declared dead at the scene.

Vermaak says one person, who was critically injured, later died in hospital.

The cause of the accident is not yet known and local authorities are investigating.
