The Independent Electoral Commission will meet at the weekend to chart a way forward for the country's upcoming Local Government Elections.
This, after the Constitutional Court, ordered the polls to be held between 27 October and 1 November.
The IEC had approached the highest court in the land to ask for permission to postpone the elections to no later than February, and this has now been denied.
The Commission says in line with the court order, it will make announcements relating to the electoral programme on Monday.
The IEC says a meeting with the National Party Liaison Committee will also be convened on an urgent basis.
