Six killed in Krugersdorp taxi accident

Six people were killed, and five others, including a child, sustained severe injuries when a taxi hit a tree and caught alight in Krugersdorp on Saturday evening.

Paramedics and the West Rand Municipality's Fire Department declared six people dead at the scene.

The injured were assessed and treated on the scene before being rushed to nearby hospitals.

The child was airlifted to hospital.

The cause of the accident is unknown and local authorities are investigating.
