Five people have been killed in an accident on the R-81 in the Mopani district in Limpopo.
Provincial Transport and Community Safety spokesperson, Mike Maringa says the driver of a Hyundai sedan lost control near Mooketsi and hit a tree early on Saturday morning.
He says the driver and four passengers were declared dead at the scene.
Maringa says preliminary investigations suggest that speed was a possible cause of the accident.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
