Five people were killed and one person sustained serious injuries in an accident between a bakkie and a truck on the N1 at De Doorns in the Western Cape on Saturday.
ER24's Werner Vermaak says paramedics arrived at the scene and declared five people dead.
He says one person from the bakkie sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital.
The truck driver was treated on the scene and transported to Mediclinic Worcester.
Vermaak says the cause of the accident is unknown and local authorities are investigating.
