Six people, including an infant, a toddler, a teenager and three adults were killed in an accident between a bus and a light motor vehicle in the Free State on Sunday morning.
The Provincial Emergency Medical Service's Sipho Towa says the collision took place at the Dewetsdorp and Reddersburg crossing.
He says the bus reportedly drove over the car and dragged it along for approximately 150m.
The Free State Road and Transport Department's Hilary Mophete says the Toyota Conquest was reportedly transporting eight passengers.
She says it is alleged that the car failed to yield at a stop sign at the junction between the R706 and N6.
Meanwhile, provincial Health Department spokesperson Mondli Mvambi says the two survivors of the accident were transported to the Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein in a stable condition.
