Five people were killed and six others were injured in an accident near Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal this morning.
Netcare 911 spokesperson, Chris Botha, said a bakkie which was carrying eleven people seemed to have lost control and overturned at Ashburton.
A tow truck responding to the scene rounded the bend and collided into the wreck of the bakkie.
Five people were certified dead on the scene.
One person was hospitalised with critical injuries while another five were in a serious condition.
