The minister of Electricity, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa says load shedding will remain for at least the rest of the year.
He was speaking at the ANC's four-day National Executive Committee meeting in Boksburg yesterday.
Ramokgopa presented a report to the NEC after embarking on a nationwide tour inspecting power stations.
He presented four interventions to address the power crisis, which include the continued use of diesel to generate electricity, addressing energy availability factors, ramping up generation while reducing demand, and the isolation of critical sectors like hospitals, prisons and police stations among others.
The minister said it was not possible to end load shedding tomorrow, and technically not possible to end it by the end of 2023.
