The SAPS parade at the Moses Mabhida Stadium went viral on social media for all the wrong reasons.
A video of the South African Police Service parade was shared on social media - and South Africans were shocked.
The parade was held at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban ahead of Zulu King MisuZulu kaZwelithini's certificate handover ceremony on Saturday.
President Cyril Ramaphosa will present the royal with a certificate of recognition, completing the final step of his coronation ceremony as the new and reigning Zulu monarch.
No less than 50,000 people are expected to attend the event.
Police Minister Bheki Cele and the National Commissioner of the SAPS, General Fannie Masemola, received a safety operational plan put in place by the SAPS to safeguard the event.
The video that is alleged to be that of the SAPS members shows how they couldn't follow basic drills.
South Africans commented on the video saying that "the country is a mess" and "a joke".
"These are not difficult skills to master if people practiced every day when they report for duty. This is sheer lack of discipline," another commented.
Meanwhile, Minister Cele said this weekend's major events in the country would be well secured.
It follows a warning issued by the US embassy this week of a possible terrorist attack in Sandton.
On Thursday, President Cyril Ramaphosa described the alert as unfortunate and said US authorities should have discussed it with the South African government first.
