North West Police arrested eight people who allegedly abducted and killed three men suspected of dealing in drugs in Morokweng on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone, said they were arrested on Friday by members of a multi-disciplinary task team probing the murder of the three men, Bonakele, Khayalethu, and Zanaflex Sabasaba, who hail from Carltonville.
He said the group allegedly went to the home where the men stayed and pelted it with stones in a bid to get them to come out. Mokgwabone said when they caught the men after they fled, they were taken back and the house set alight, killing all three.
He said the eight, aged between 26 and 42, are expected to appear in the Ganyesa Magistrates’ Court on Monday, on three counts of murder, another three of kidnapping, and one of arson.
Police said they are still maintaining a presence in the area.
