South Africans wanting to comment on the Cannabis for Private Purposes Bill will be able to do so until the end of next month.
This after the Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services, extended Friday's deadline to allow for more written submissions.
Chairperson Bulelani Magwanishe says they had received several requests for an extension after the public participation process opened about a month ago.
The Bill, among other things, seeks to regulate the possession of cannabis plant cultivation material, to cultivate and possess a prescribed quantity of cannabis plants and also to smoke and consume dagga.
The new deadline for public comment is now the 30th of November.
