COVID19: Thousands of municipal workers test positive

The SA Municipal Workers' Union says that 4 571 have contracted covid19, with at least 63 workers succumbing to the virus.

Samwu says that 27 of those who died were in the Eastern Cape.

The Municipal Workers Union says most of the municipal workers who tested positive were from Metro Police, Fire and Ambulance Services.

Samwu's called on Municipalities to place a greater focus these groups of workers, saying not much is being done to protect them.
