The ANC's electoral commission has given a clear indication that it is beyond reproach.
ANC electoral commission spokesperson Frene Ginwala addressed a media briefing on Thursday on the processess and procedures related to the party's elective conference in Mangaung next week.
Ginwala says the party's electoral commission holds unity and credibility of the ANC as paramount.
"The critical issue for the electoral commission is to act on any matter that arises with fairness and impartiality and to ensure that entire process remains credible and legitimate. The Electoral Commission is composed members of an esteemed team of ANC stalwarts who have served the party tirelessly and selflessly for decades" Ginwala said.
The party declined to comment on questions related to the top six nominations saying it was not at liberty to do so ahead of the actual conference.
Meanwhile, the SA Chamber of Commerce and Industry says it trusts that any interaction with the public regarding conference decisions will exhibit responsible leadership and sensitivity to investor confidence.
Sacci's Peggy Drodskie, says investors will closely watch the outcome of the conference.
She says this speaks volumes about the influence of the ANC and the international convention to monitor the policy development of important political parties.
