E-tolls will go ahead

An application by the lobby group Outa for a review of e-tolls legislation has been rejected by Pretoria High Court judge, Louis Vorster.

According to twitter postings, judge Vorster also ordered that the Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance should pay the costs of the application, rumoured to be in the region of R30m.

In its application Outa claimed that the SA National Roads Agency Limited had deliberately kept the public in the dark about the process of implementing tolls in Gauteng.

However, justice Vorster rejected this contention saying the allegation was flawed.
