The man accused of masterminding the murder of 28-year-old Tshegofatso Pule has been denied bail.
Ntuthuko Shoba was arrested after his alleged accomplice, Muzikayise Malephane, the man who admitted to killing Pule, implicated him.
Shoba is charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and defeating the ends of justice and was arrested on 18 February 2021, a day before Malephane was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment following his guilty plea.
Pule’s body was found hanging from a tree near Roodepoort in June 2020.
Malephane implicated Shoba as the 'contractor' for Pule’s murder and said that Shoba offered him R70 000 to kill her, in a quest to prevent his wife from finding out about Pule’s pregnancy.
Shoba appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court on Friday where he was told that he would remain behind bars until his trial.
The case was postponed to 25 March for further investigation.
