Alleged drug mule nabbed at Lebombo Border Post

A 51-year-old drug smuggling suspect is expected to appear in the Komatipoort Magistrate’s Court on Friday in connection with a R1.5 million heroin bust.

He was arrested at the Lebombo Border Post on Wednesday when the drugs were found hidden in the engine compartment of the truck he was driving.

The arrest came while police and customs officials were conducting a multidisciplinary operation at the border post and inspected the truck coming in from Mozambique.
