A suspect has been arrested for the murder of a policeman at a crime hotspot in Polokwane last November.
The arrest was made on Friday by a multi-disciplinary team comprising the Hawks' Serious Organised Crime Investigation unit, Limpopo Crime Intelligence, Mankweng SAPS Tracing Team and the Westernburg SAPS.
The suspect was sought for the murder of Sergeant Pieter de Lange (30) from Westernburg SAPS who died after a gun battle with alleged drug dealers.
Police said during the suspect’s arrest at his home in Seshego they confiscated an unlicensed firearm and a suspected stolen motor vehicle.
He will appear in court on Monday.
