Police Minister Bheki Cele maintains there will be tight security and a high police presence in Senekal when Brendin Horner's murder suspects appear in court on Friday.

Horner's body was found tied to a pole on a farm in the Paul Roux area two weeks ago.

The 32-year-old Sekwetje Mahlamba and the 44-year-old Sekola Matlaletsa stand accused of his murder. They are expected to make a formal bail application on Friday after their first court appearance in the Senekal Magistrate's Court was disrupted by protesters.

The group of protestors last week damaged court property fired shots and torched a police vehicle demanding that the pair be handed over to them. The Senekal protest has since sparked racial tension and outrage countrywide, with many stating that it was an attack on the state.

Members of the EFF have also arrived in the town where tensions are high.

The Party said on its official Twitter account that "white arrogance" has no place in our democracy. "Fighters in Senekal are here to ensure that

the white minority respects state institutions and the rule of law," they added.
