The Western Cape Provincial Government has launched a full investigation into the Cape Town night club, Tin Roof, linked to the outbreak of over 70 new cases of COVID-19, last week.
According to the preliminary investigation, 37 of the infected are matric learners, who attend various schools in the southern suburbs, most of them private.
Western Cape Premier, Alan Winde says they learnt on Wednesday that club had breached lockdown regulations and safety protocols.
He says the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Provincial Liquor Authority will form part of the investigation.
The popular nightclub is in Claremont.
