19 family members killed in North West accident

The Road Traffic Management Corporation says at least 19 family members have been killed in a head-on collision on the R34 between Bloemhof and Schweizer-Reneke in North West at the weekend.

The RTMC said on Twitter the accident happened between a Quantum minibus and a truck.

The cause of the accident is not known, and according to reports, two women and a child survived.

North West Police have opened a culpable homicide docket for investigation.
