A horror crash near Escourt in Kwazulu-Natal has claimed the lives of at least 14 people.
Traffic authorities say three vehicles - including a taxi - collided on the Jo'burg side of the N3, late on Monday night amid heavy downpours.
Robert Mckenzie is the spokesperson for KZN Emergency Medical Services and says two trucks and a mini bus were involved in the accident.
He says the deceased included 13 women and a man.
Mckenzie says one person was critically injured and was rushed to hospital for further medical care.
Authorities are still piecing together the exact details of the accident but it is believed that all the deceased were travelling in the taxi.
