The Democratic Alliance has welcomed the resignation of Hangwani Mulaudzi, from the Hawks.
This amid allegations that he had misappropriated funds from the National Lotteries Commission through a Foundation in his name.
DA MP, Matt Cuthbert says there’s prima-facie evidence to warrant an investigation into Mulaudzi’s alleged involvement in the NPO which had received R3 million from the national lottery for a sports centre.
He says funds meant for the project were spent on items unrelated to the project.
Hawks spokesperson, Colonel Katlego Mogale, confirmed his resignation for personal reasons.
She says it was accepted by the head of the Hawks, Lieutenant-General Godfrey Lebeya.
