The South African Weather Service has predicted some disruptive rain that could lead to localised flooding in susceptible settlements, roads, low lying areas and bridges along the coast and adjacent interior, east of the Kei River.
Spokesperson Garth Sampson says cold and rainy conditions are expected throughout the weekend over the central and south-eastern parts of the country.
He says in along the coastal region between Port Alfred and Sodwana Bay the weather could cause disruptions to beachfront activities and damage coastal infrastructure.
Snow
Light snowfalls can be expected over the eastern and southern parts of Lesotho and the surrounding Drakensberg mountains on Saturday evening as well as overnight Sunday night.
Maximum temperatures in the Eastern Cape are expected to reach between 16 and 21 degrees celsius.
