Zola Budd has dedicated her Comrades Marathon run on Sunday to Pierre Korkie, a South African teacher who has been held hostage in Yemen for a year.
Budd describes Korkie as a dear friend and coach and she's she'll be running with a yellow ribbon on her vest to honour him.
She invites other runners to join her.
Korkie coached Budd in 1988 and 1989.
Tuesday marks the one year anniversary of the day Korkie and his wife Yolandé were captured by rebels in Taiz.
Yolande was released in January but Pierre is still being held captive by Al Qaeda rebels.
