The Mecer NMMU Madibaz made their intentions for the 2013 Momentum National Club Championships known, when they beat North West PUKKE by a whopping 182 runs on the opening day of the competition in Pretoria yesterday.
Edward Moore lead the run scoring with 77 as the PE students made an impressive 284 for 6 in their 50 overs.
In reply, PUkke were bundled out for 102 as Anrich Nortje produced an outstanding spell, taking 5 for 13 in seven overs.
Sisanda Magala took 3/23 in five overs.
The Madibas will go into today's match against Good Hope CC brimming with confidence after the latter was comprehensively thumped by Kovsies.
