The Sunrisers Eastern Cape made it three wins in a row on Thursday night with a hard-fought 5 wicket win over the Paarl Royals at Boland Park in the Betway SA20 league.
The Sunrisers bowlers performed brilliantly as a unit as they restricted the Royals to just 127/7 in their 20 overs - captain and man of the match Aiden Markram leading from the front with 2/21 in his 4 overs.
In reply, Adam Rossington and Jason Hermann put on 35 runs for the first wicket.
Markram then kept the innings ticking over with a run a ball 23.
After Bjorn Fortuin set the cat amongst the pigeons with three wickets in one over, it was the two wise old heads on young shoulders of Marco Jansen and Tristan Stubbs who saw the Sunrisers safely home.
Jansen struck 21 not out off 22 balls and Stubbs was still there at the end as well on 18 off 12 deliveries.
The Sunrisers EC are now riding the crest of the wave ahead of a keenly anticipated weekend of back to back matches in front of their Orange Army faithful at St Georges Park with both matches starting at 17h30.
On Saturday, the Sunrisers host the Joburg Super Kings and on Sunday they entertain the Durban Super Giants.
