Uruguay striker Luis Suarez is out of the football World Cup after being handed a nine-match ban by football's world governing body FIFA.
He's also banned from all football activity for four months for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini in Tuesday's final group game.
Uruguay won the match 1-0 to progress through to the knockout stages, as Italy failed to make the last 16 for the second tournament in a row.
In Thursday's ruling over the biting incident - Fifa also fined Suarez 111-thousand US dollars.
Fifa's Disciplinary Committee chairman Claudio Sulser said such behaviour cannot be tolerated on any football pitch, and in particular not at a Fifa World Cup when the eyes of millions of people are on the stars on the field.
The ban and fine kick in immediately, meaning Suarez misses the rest of the World Cup, starting with Uruguay's round of 16 tie against Colombia on Saturday.
