Stumbling start to 2015 for Chippa United

It was an inauspicious start for Ernst Middendorp as the new coach of Chippa United on Tuesday night.

The PE-based franchise went down 2 - 1 to University of Pretoria at the Tuks Stadium..

Tuks opened the scoring in the 34th minute through Atusaye Nyondo before Erick Chipeta levelled matters in the 51st minute.

But, barely four minutes later, Denver Mukamba, netted again for the students which was enough to secure the three points.

In other results,  Mamelodi Sundowns trounced Moroka Swallows 4 - 1 while Bidvest Wits beat Maritburg United 2 -1 at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

In the English Premiership;  Mario Balotelli finally scored his first Premier League goal for Liverpool to seal a dramatic 3-2 win over Tottenham, while Arsenal moved up to fourth place with a 2-1 victory against Leicester.

Hull beat Aston Villa 2-0 and QPR beat Sunderland by the same scoreline

Hours earlier, the British Premier League announced a staggering 70 per cent increase in the value of its British television rights for the next three seasons with Sky and BT Sports paying a combined £5.1 billion pounds for the rights to televise matches.
