Vodacom Blue Bulls flank Deon Stegmann has been suspended for one week for striking EP Kings flanker Devin Oosthuizen with his elbow in their Absa Currie Cup Premier Division clash in Port Elizabeth last Friday.
His Blue Bulls counterpart, hooker Bongi Mbonambi, was cleared of further sanction after receiving a yellow card in the match for charging into a ruck without using his arms.
Stegmann was red card for his moment of madness in the 69th minute of the match which the Bulls won 28-13 at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium.
The sanction means Stegmann will not be available to the Bulls for Saturday's clash with the Sharks at Loftus.
