Seven-time world snooker champion Stephen Hendry has announced his retirement after losing in the quarter-finals at the world championships in Sheffield, England.
The 43-year-old snooker legend bowed out after a 13-2 defeat to fellow Scot Stephen Maguire.
Hendry said he had made the decision about three months ago but was now officially retired from tournament snooker.
This was Hendry's 27th consecutive appearance at the world championships, with his first win coming in 1990 and his seventh and last in 1999.
