Liverpool's wretched season continues

Martin Skrtel's own goal condemned Liverpool to a 1-0 loss to Fulham last night, maintaining the team's dreadful home form in the Premier League this season.

The 18-time champions have won just five of 18 home matches in the league and are likely to finish below Merseyside rival Everton, which is three points ahead in seventh place after a 1-1 draw at Stoke on Tuesday.

Meanwhile: England's national team is back in the hands of an Englishman in Roy Hodgson who has been tasked with ending England's 46-year title drought.

The 64-year-old Londoner is the oldest manager to be handed the pressure-packed role in a four-year deal after agreeing to leave West Bromwich Albion later this month.
