Police in Tarkastad have registered a Culpable Homicide docket for investigation after an accident claimed the lives of seven people.
The head on collision between an Avanza and Isuzu bakkie happened late on Saturday afternoon on the road between Tarkastad and Queenstown about 5 km outside Tarkastad.
The Avanza was travelling in the direction of Tarkastad and the Isuzu in the direction of Queenstown when the accident happened.
Seven people were killed instantly including the driver of the Avanza.
The driver of the Isuzu bakkie and another passenger in the Avanza sustained serious injuries and were taken to the Frontier Hospital in Queenstown.
Polic say that no names can be released as the next of kin must still be informed.
