Series whitewash for Momentum Proteas over Pakistan

Cricket South Africa

Three wickets apiece by Shabnim Ismail, Sune Luus and Ayabonga Khaka proved key in helping the Momentum Proteas complete a 32-run win over Pakistan and with it a 3-0 series whitewash after the final One-Day International at Kingsmead in Durban on Tuesday.

Fast bowler Ismail claimed an impeccable three for 22, fellow seamer Khaka took three for 29 and captain Luus nabbed her 100th wicket for South Africa with her three for 35.

Those strikes ensured the hosts defended 202 by restricting the tourists to 169 all out – in the process securing their biggest win of the three-match contest.

It was also South Africa’s sixth consecutive WODI win after they overcame New Zealand by the same margin when they toured that country last year.

The two sides will now play a three-match T20 International Series at the same venue, starting on Friday.
