A swashbuckling, career-best 174 off just 83 balls by Heinrich Klaasen helped South Africa to the biggest score at Supersport Park in Centurion on Friday, levelling the One Day International Series against Australia.
He raced to his third ODI 100 in 57 balls at his home-ground, with his innings consisting of 13 fours and 13 sixes.
Klaasen was supported in the end by David Miller, who smashed 82 off 45 balls, setting up a partnership of 222 runs and steering the Proteas to 416 for five, before he lost his wicket off the last ball of the innings.
The Man of the Match later described his knock as special at a ground he knows too well.
South African openers, Quinton de Kock made 45 and Reeza Hendricks helped himself to 28 off 34 balls. Stand-in captain, Aiden Markram, scored 8, while Rassie van der Dussen smashed 62 runs from 45 deliveries.
The Australians were then skittled out for 252 runs in 34.5 overs, with Lungi Ngidi returning figures of 4 for 51, snaring the wickets of David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Tim David and Nathan Ellis.
Kagiso Rabada took 3 for 41 while Keshav Maharaj and Marco Jansen took a wicket apiece.
The series decider will take place in Johannesburg on Sunday.
