England's Justin Rose won the World Golf Championship event at Doral in Miami yesterday, his two-under par 70 was enough to overtake Bubba Watson, whose erratic effort added to the drama of a day that saw Tiger Woods withdraw injured.
Rose captured his 10th global title and his first in an elite World Golf Championship event on a 16-under par total.
Watson was a shot behind in second after a final round of 74 with world number one Rory McIlroy a further shot back in third place.
Charl Schwartzel closed with a 68 and tied for 4th with Peter Hanson, three shots off the pace.
Woods caused a sensation when he called it a day moments after hitting his tee shot on the 12th because of tightness in his left Achilles tendon.
