Newly crowned South African Elite women’s road race champion, Ashleigh Moolman Pasio, claimed her first ever victory at the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour yesterday.
But it was a victory marred by the horrific finishing sprint crash that took down and injured all three of her Momentum Toyota teammates.
All in all - the crash brought down more than 20 riders including Port Elizabeth's Anriette Schoeman, who had been gunning for her 7th Argus win.
The men's race was won by Reinhardt Janse van Rensburg of the MTN-Qhubeka team.
