Proteas Women
A strong batting performance by the Proteas Women top order propelled them to an eight-wicket win over Pakistan in the third and final T20 international in Multan, on Friday.
The South Africans won the toss and sent the hosts in to bat, with them managing a competitive 153 for 5 in their 20 overs.
In reply, the Proteas women made the winning runs in 18.3 overs and losing two wickets, being Tazmin Brits who went for a duck and captain and opener, Laura Wolvaardt, who set out the stall with 44 off 37 deliveries.
Anneke Bosch retired hurt, but not before contributing 46, which included 6 fours, and 2 sixes.
It was then up to Annerie Dercksen (44) and Sune Luus (14) to see the South Africans home to a series win.
The Proteas won the first T20 by 10 runs, and Pakistan bounced back to win the second by 13 runs.
The series was also seen as a warm-up for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in the UAE early next month. South Africa open their campaign against West Indies, with England, Scotland and Bangladesh completing the group.
