Proteas thumped but Warriors bounce back

Umar Gul claimed the remarkable analysis of 5-6 to help dismiss the Proteas for just 100 and set up victory by the enormous margin of 95 runs in the second and deciding KFC T20 International at Supersport Park, Centurion, yesterday.

The first game was washed out without a ball being bowled in Durban on Friday,  allowing the tourists to claim the series 1-0.

Mohammed Hafeez led his team to a formidable total of 195-7 with an explosive innings of 86 from just 51 deliveries.

In reply, the Proteas collapsed from 50 for 1 to 51 for four and ultimately their lowest score in T-20 cricket.

The five-match ODI series begins in Bloemfontein next Sunday.

The Chevrolet Warriors came good though, beating the Dolphins by 9 wickets in a Ram Slam T-20 match in East London on Saturday night.

The Dolphins were held to 136 for 4 in their 20 overs and in reply, the Warriors finished on 138 for one in 17.3 overs -
Christiaan Jonker made 34 and undefeated at the end were Ashwell Prince on 70 and Colin Ingram on 26.
