Proteas in charge in Hamilton

New Zealand have stuttered to a precarious 65/4 at stumps on the second day of the second test against South Africa at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

They're still 3 runs behind with just the six second innings wickets in hand.

Kane Williamson resumes tomorrow on 41 alongside Daniel Vittori who has yet to score.

Earlier, recalled New Zealand fast bowler Mark Gillespie took five wickets for 59 as South Africa were bowled out for 253 - a 68 run lead on the Black Caps first innings 185.

AB de Villiers made 83 and Morne Morkel an unbeaten 35 off 44 balls batting at number 10.

New Zealand then suffered a horror start to their second innings as they slipped to 7 for 3 with Vernon Philander removing Rob Nicol for 1 and Brendon McCullum for 5 and Dale Steyn sending Martin Guptill packing for one.
Late in the day, Steyn also got the prized wicket of the captain Ross Taylor who he trapped lbw for 17.
