Mclaren sets fastest time

McLaren driver Jenson Button set the fastest time in the first practice session for Formula One's season-opening Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on Sunday.

Button was a quarter of a second faster than team mate Lewis Hamilton with Mercedes' Michael Schumacher and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso next on the timesheets.

Reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel was 11th, more than two seconds off the pace in his Red Bull.
