Proteas draw final Test against Australia

Temba Bavuma in action in Sydney

Cricket SA

The Proteas produced their best batting display of their tour to Australia on the last day of the three Test tour by battling out a hard-fought draw at the SCG in Sydney on Sunday.

Simon Harmer, Keshav Maharaj, Sarel Erwee and Heinrich Klaasen all took important time out of the match with useful contributions with the bat as the Proteas posted 255 in their first innings and then reached 106 for two in their follow-on innings when time was called on the final afternoon.

South Africa's 1st innings score was also their highest total in their last 8 innings.

The draw in a match in which the entire third day's play was lost to rain means that South Africa registers a 2-0 loss in the series.
