Port Elizabeth middle distance road running ace Ntombesintu Mfunzi won the South African leg of a world wide event staged simultaneously in 35 countries across six continents on Sunday.
Taking part in the Wings for Life World Run in Franschoek in the Western Cape, Mfunzi finished 4th in the world - running a total distance of 47.54 kilometres before the 'catcher' car caught up to her.
It was a global charity event with 100% of the proceeds going towards spinal cord injury research and staged under the theme - running for those who can't.
