The Mayoral Committee of the Nelson Mandela Municipality could consider a move to bring PSL side Martizburg United to Port Elizabeth as early as tomorrow.
Municipal spokesperson Kupido Baron told AlgoaFM sport that the contract was in the process of being finalised - as negotiations were at an advanced stage.
The deal, which would reportedly cost the Metro up to 20-million rand, would entail changing the name of the club for the duration of their stay in Port Elizabeth.
The move to bring a PSL team to the city on a permanent basis is part of the Metro strategy of making the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium viable.
