A new season of Formula 1 Powerboat Racing will kick off in East London next month.
Transnet National Ports Authority has confirmed that it has secured F1 Powerboat racing as one of the headline attractions for the 2012 East London Port Festival, scheduled for the 23rd and 24th of June.
The East London harbour-course is regarded as one of the most technically demanding in the country and returns to the calender after a seven-year absence - having last been staged during the 2005 Port Festival.
In addition to the marquee event, SA F1 Powerboat Racing has also committed to staging a number of other races in the harbour during the two-day festival.
