Pakistan whitewash South Africa in 2-Test series.

Hassan Ali: Pakistan Cricket

South Africa were beaten by Pakistan by 95 runs on Monday on the 5th and final day of the 2nd Test in Rawalpindi.

Pakistan won the short series 2-0 after winning the first test in Karachi by 7 wickets for their first series win over South Africa in 18 years.

The Proteas set off on Monday morning on 127 for one in pursuit of a distant victory target of 370 with Aiden Markram well-set on 59 and Rassie van der Dussen on 48.

But Rassie did not add to his overnight score and Faf du Plessis departed soon thereafter for five, both falling to the irrepressible fast bowler Hassan Ali.

Markram and Temba Bavuma then gave the Proteas hope with a 106 run stand for the 4th wicket.

However, when Markram fell to Ali for 108 shortly after lunch the floodgates opened and Pakistan ultimately romped to a comfortable victory.

Markram departed with the score on 241 for four and ten overs later the innings was all over as the last seven wickets fell for a mere 33 runs.

South Africa were all out for 274 in their second innings as Ali went on to take 5/60 in 16 overs on the back of his 5/54 in the first innings.

It was his first 10-wicket haul in Test cricket.

The two teams now play a 3-match T20 series in Lahore with the first match on Thursday.
