Defending FNB Varsity Cup champions, the University of Cape Town, picked up their first points of the 2012 season, thanks to a 66-2 demolition of Wooden Spoonists, the TUT Vikings, in Tshwane last night.
The NMMU Madibaz could not repeat their giant killing antics of last week against the Shimlas when they went down 48-18 to UJ at the Westdene Stadium in Johannesburg.
Tukkies beat the NWU-Pukke 40-20 in a physical clash in Pretoria, and the Maties remained unbeaten with a deserved 20-7 win over Shimlas at the Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch.
As things stand now, the Maties and Tukkies are the only unbeaten teams after three rounds of the competition and, as luck may have it, they will go head-to-head in Stellenbosch next Monday.
