Loose forward Daron Nell will lead the Southern Kings in Saturday’s pre-season friendly against the Cheetahs at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
Kick off is at 5pm.
Nell is supported by seasoned campaigners Steven Sykes, Rynier Bernardo and Devin Oosthuizen in the forwards and George Whitehead, Ronnie Cooke, Shakes Soyi-zwapi and Sergeal Petersen in the backs.
There are a number of new faces, including an all-new front row in props BG Uys and Pieter Stemmet and hooker Dane van der Westhuyzen.
Speaking at Tuesday’s team announcement, CEO Charl Crous said the friendlies the next three weekends against the Cheetahs, Lions and Stormers were an exciting time for EP rugby, as it awaits the Currie Cup expansion announcement on the 31st of January.
